Now, here is Shelley Hamilton with her project!

Hi!  Shelley, here!  For my project, I have made two mini-canvases that my 8 year old daughter will be giving to her teachers!  I made two to begin with, and she has since informed me about several other teachers she would like to give one of these to, also.  I guess I will have to get busy!  I'm not too sad about it, though, as it was great fun!  Check it out!

Here is the first one!  I began with a small wooden easel and a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" canvas.  I first covered the canvas with the beige music paper from the Rejoice 6"x6" paper pad.  I used the Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the paper to the canvas.  On this paper, I used Faber Castell's Gelato in Guava.  I just simply colored it on, then smoothed it out with a paper towel.  I then ripped a small piece of the Holly and Birds paper from the same pad, and glued it along the top of the canvas.  I used a small piece of the baby blue music paper from the same pad, and glued it on.  After doing this, I went over any edges with the Guava Gelato.
On heavy white cardstock, I stamped a little girl and colored her in with Faber Castell Pitt Pastels, numbers 106, 109, 118, 156, 168, and 170.  I sprayed her with a sealant(hairspray will work) after I was completely done.  This seals the color in, not letting it get smeared.  I then used a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen in Green Metallic #294 over the blue color in her dress.  I had not used this type of pen before, and was very impressed.  It had such a gorgeous opaque metallic color.  Hmmm, I think I'm going to need a few more of these!
I glued the little girl on the canvas, then used some sentiment stickers from the Rejoice collection to embellish.  I traced around these words on the canvas with Faber Castell's Art Grip Aquarelle in #168.  I also put a little jingle-bell brad in the canvas with a bit of twine around it.

After putting some paper around the edges of the canvas(I used Holly and Birds in 12"x12"), I sprayed the canvas with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist in Pearl Green.  This gave the whole thing a beautiful sparkle!  I then sprayed the easel with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist in Copper, and tied a bow around it to finish it off!

For the second one, I started with a plain wooden easel and a 3"x3" canvas.  I covered the canvas with the beige music paper from the Rejoice 6"x6" paper pad.  I glued it down with the Xyron Mega Runner, which works great!  I then colored the paper with the Faber Castell Gelatos in Bubble Gum, Red Cherry, and Green and rubbed with a paper towel.
I then took torn pieces of Holly and Birds and the baby blue music paper from the Rejoice 6"x6" paper pad and glued them down.  I stamped another little girl on heavy white cardstock and colored her with Faber Castell Pitt Pastels, numbers 106, 109, 113, 153, 168, and 193.  To really make the blue part of her dress shine, I then dotted with Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen in Green Metallic, #294.  This was truly an amazing pen.  It had a beautiful opaque metallic shine!
I used a couple of die cut pieces from the Rejoice line to embellish the canvas.  I colored over these with the Faber Castell  Pitt Pastels in #118, 168, and 193.  Doing this really made the colors pop.  I then glued the girl down, along with some Rejoice sentiment stickers that I outlined with Faber Castell's Pitt Artist Pen Big Brush in Leaf Green #112.

For the sides of the canvas, I used strips of red polka dotted paper (backside of Holly and Birds) in the 12"x12" size.
For the berries in the lower left-hand corner, I used Viva Colour Paper-Pen in Light Carmine Red and in White.  I then sprayed the whole canvas with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist in Pearl Green.  Magical shine!!
I colored the easel with a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen Big Brush in Leaf Green #112.  This pen was awesome!  With such a large brush, I was able to cover the easel easily, and the color was just stupendous!  To finish the project, I used some leopard tulle and tied a bow to the back of the easel.
