"Courage is Power" Card for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

"Courage is Power" card for World Card Day!!

Shelley here with a card for World Card Day and Breast Cancer awareness month!

For my "Courage is Power" card, I began with several different papers from the 6"x6" paper pad from the "Beautiful You" collection by Christine Adolf.  This paper is absolutely gorgeous!  I used several different border punches on some of the edges of the papers, then assembled them on the card as shown.  I used the "Courage" cut out from the same paper pad, and matted it with the pink paper from the Dots and Stripes Warm 6"x6" paper pad.  I then pop-dotted it to the card, and placed a couple of pink flowers underneath.
Toward the bottom right-hand part of the card, I used a set of gates from the Life as Art Die Cut shapes.  I painted them with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Pink Grapefruit.  I used 2 small pieces of eye candy on the doors.
Under the doors is a pod from the Mixaparts system.  I started with a small circle cut out from the 6"x6" "Beautiful You" paper pad.  I painted it with Pink Azalea Twinkling H20.  I then used an overlay from the Shabby Chic prepack and a white resin piece from the Majesty Resin set.  I put a few glass beads in the pod, then glued it closed.  I used a 1" hole punch in the card, and glued the pod in from the back.  On the inside of the doors, I used some Oceanside Words and painted it with the Pink Azalea twinkling H20.
I was really pleased with the finished project!!  I enjoyed sharing this project with you!
Have a great day!
Shelley Hamilton

Joyful Heart ATC by Shelley Hamilton

I started with a card from our Life as Art ATC Pack.  I painted the card with Apple Blossom, Stargazer, and Rose Gold Twinkling H20s.  I used a heart and two butterfly stickers from the Beautiful You Sticker Sheet to decorate the card.
I also used a die cut flower, a butterfly, and a frame from Beautiful You Die Cut Shapes. I used Twinkling H20s in Apple Blossom, Stargazer, and Pearl Red to paint these items.  I used a white opaque writer to accent these pieces after they had completely dried.
I used a pod from the Mixaparts system.  For the pod's background, i used a one inch circle punch on some light-colored paper, and painted it with the Apple Blossom Twinkling H20.  The "HOPE" overlay is from the Shabby Chic prepack.  I put a small pink eye candy and some pink glitter in the shaker.  To install the pod, I punched a 1" hold in the ATC, then glued the pod in from the back.  It was super-easy, and the outcome was pretty cool!
The little silver colored butterfly is a resin piece from the Majesty Resin pack.  Isn't it nifty?
The Joyful Spirit transparency is from the Preposterous Transparent Die Cut Shape pack.  I put some hot-pink trim behind it, and it really popped.  I used a couple of larger pink eye candy pieces here also.
I used a small heart doilly and a pink earring in the shape of a ribbon to help accentuate the card.
I thought the card came together nicely and felt pleased with the result!

In CI's ATC packs, there are the above info cards included.  You fill one out, then glue it to the back of your ATC before trading!

That's it for today!  I hope you guys enjoyed my project!  Have a great day!
Shelley

50th Wedding Anniversary Album/Cigar Box for cards

I made this 50th Wedding Anniversary Album for my friend's parents!  The cover papers are by Creative Imaginations, and the book is by Heart of Texas Studio.

This was a picture of them when they were around 13 years!!

We put baby pics in, then high school pics.

Navy pics, then some young family pics!

More family pics!

Great times at the beach!

Some more current pictures!

The back of the album.

I also made them a decorated cigar box to hold their 50th Wedding Anniversary cards that they received from friends and family!  I loved this picture of them, and decided on it in lieu of a more traditional one!

I papered the inside of the box, as well as the outside.  In the bottom, I put felt.

Together, the items were very pretty, and I was pleased with them!

They seemed to like them, too!

If you have arrived from Rita Barakat's blog, you are at the right place!  To start at the beginning of the blog hop, head over to Faber Castell Design Memory Craft!

Here is a sneak peak of how to use Faber Castell Gelatos.

For this page from a 50th Wedding Anniversary Album I made for my best friends' parents, I used the metallic gelatos in silver and gold to help me with the shells at the bottom of this page.

Overall, in the book, I used black and white papers, with black, white, and gold embellishments.  For the shells at the bottom of this page, then, it was great to have such a creamy, easy-to-use medium to make the shells a nice gold color.   At the top of the page, I used the same gold Gelatos to edge the trim, keeping with the theme of the 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Here is a close-up of the bottom of the page so you can get a better look of how fully the Gelatos let me cover the shells.

Thank you for letting me share this sneak-peak with you!
My full project, including pictures and in-depth instruction will be on my blog

Next, you should hop right over to Jill Foster's blog to see what awesome stuff she's made!

Album for Senior Pictures

I made this album for my friend's daughter to house her senior pictures, which my husband took!
I used a Heart of Texas Studio book and Creative Imaginations paper.
I embellished simply, as I felt the pictures were the main attraction and the paper was almost enough!
Here, I used a bit of metal embellishments by Tim Holtz.

At the bottom of this page, I used gold alcohol ink on Maya Road Vintage Trinket paintable roses.
These metal flowers are by Maya Road.
The metal corner and arrow are from Hobby Lobby.
Metal word embellishment new by Tim Holtz.
A metal key and a bit of lace was enough for this page.
Maya Road's new trim along with a Tim Holtz embellishment.

Maya Road measurement trim with a metal buckle.
 Pretty trinket by Petaloo.
Isn't this wood-look paper pretty?

Thanks for looking!
